Haukiputaan Heitto has been recognized multiple times during its years of existence
In 2006, the Finnish Sports Federation awarded us the Wihuri Prize. During the same year, we received the Nuori Suomi-sinetti for a High-quality sports club for the first time. (For our skiing section, to be precise).

In 2007, Haukiputaan Heitto was named the Sports Club of the Year in its region by the Finnish Sports Federations Regional Organization PoPLi. In 2012, we received an honorary award as a Sports Activator from Suomen Kuntoliikuntaliitto (now part of the new Olympic Committee).

In 2016, TUL (Suomen Työväen Urheiluliitto, Finnish Workers’ Sports Federation) and the City of Oulu awarded us for equality in sports.

Haukiputaan Heitto has reached five World Championships and several European and Finnish Championships. Wrestling has been by far the most successful (and arguably the historically most well-known) of our sections. In 2004, we were named Finland’s Best Sports Club in Wrestling.

Our Swimming and Gymnastics sections have been designated as part of the Star Club program. The Star Club program, known as Tähtiseura in Finnish, is a quality program developed by the Finnish Olympic Committee, the national sports federations, and affiliated regional organizations.

The Gymnastics section has held the Star Club certification since 2008 (first labelled as Nuori Suomi Sinetti, and then Tähtiseura since 2018), and the Swimming section received the certification in 2020. The Star Label indicates that its recipient is modern, agile, and humane in their actions.

The Finnish Olympic Committee has awarded our Swimming and Gymnastics sections the Star Club of the Year for Children and Youth in 2023.

The Club House
Haukiputaan Heitto also owns a historic Club House in Niemeläntörmä, Haukipudas. The building, known as Heiton Talo (”Heitto's House”), has been the center of our activities since 1970. It is also rented out for various occasions, including, but certainly not limited to, auctions, weddings, and family celebrations. The venue has also hosted concerts and even stand-up shows.
